The MAGPro2 BDM MPC5xx programmer is a modern device that enables reading, programming, backing up, and restoring the three main ECU components using the Motorola MPCXX microprocessor inside the ECU and supports a wide range of cars, motorcycles, trucks, and agricultural machinery.
Communication between the BDM programmer and the ECU takes place via 8 wires and a table with special adapters (optional). There is no need to solder any contact strips on the BDM port in the ECU to establish a connection on the board. The backup/restore functions allow the entire ECU content to be read in a single file. The accuracy of this reading is ensured by a special software procedure that automatically checks the data. Security is guaranteed by automatic checksum correction during the upload procedure. Thanks to these two functions, operations can always be reverted, and the ECU can be restored to its original conditions (except for physical damage to the ECU).
Moreover, thanks to the backup/restore functions, you can also create a copy of the ECU that can be used with different hardware, in case the original is destroyed or damaged.
The BDM programmer is available as an additional module for MAGPro2 X17 and MAGPro2 T-BOOT. We highly recommend using the MAGPro2 BDM with MAGBench (optional).
